Meet The Committee

Coordinator
Sam
I’m someone who cares deeply about defence families and the unique ups and downs we navigate.
I have been in this role, both in Wagga and Darwin for over 5 years now. In my role as a community support coordinator, I focus on creating safe spaces, and the opportunity to build real friendships and support networks.
I love bringing people together through events and helping them feel at home! We have a beautiful space out at RAAF Base Wagga, and this job is truly a privilege!

President
Tess
Proud spouse and mum to Hannah and Ollie, I am a serving member of the RAAF. I have a strong passion for my family and supporting the wider Defence community, including the RAAF, Army, and Navy families. I joined the Community House to connect with and contribute to a network that supports serving members and their families. The sense of community, mateship, and mutual support it provides is invaluable to both my family and me.

Treasurer
Hannah
Just a mum trying to raise a tiny human while pretending I have my life together. I enjoy family time, online shopping I definitely don’t need, and making ambitious to-do lists I’ll probably ignore. Funny, loyal, slightly chaotic, and always up for a laugh.
I joined The RANCH to meet other families, swap parenting survival tips, find my village, and remind myself that everyone else is winging it too.

Secretary
Isabella
Just a mum of two boys trying to navigate this crazy life we live. The time we have had in Wagga I have met the best people and people that would be friends for life and that’s been thankful to the community groups here so joining the committee was a easy decision to help out and be involved with the community.

Public Officer
Naomi
I'm Naomi, mum to three and an enthusiastic collector of new experiences. I joined the Ranch because of how much it has helped my family to feel at home in a new place. I wanted to help other people find the same home.
I tend to approach every posting like a tourist, always looking for new places to explore and adventures to have. When I'm not busy with the kids, you'll usually find me studying, planning my next long-distance hike, dragging my husband to pick up a comically huge piece of midcentury furniture off Marketplace or enjoying the outdoors with my family.

Mum to three little ones, doing my best to thrive, but if I’m honest, most days are a balancing act in survival mode! Having recently moved from the UK, I’m enjoying building a network of like-minded people and creating a community that makes the daily juggle a little more enjoyable, so joining the committee feels like an extension of that!
When I’m not chasing after the kids, I try to be at the gym or out for a very slow run, it’s as much about getting out of the house as it is about the exercise!
I’m someone who tries to be organised and punctual, with three children, that’s often easier said than done and I think most things can be solved over a chinwag and a cup of tea! ☕️

The RANCH are always welcoming new committee members. As the saying goes "it takes a village" and we certainly need all the help we can get to make the organisation as successful as possible!!
If you are interested in joining, please reach out to the coordinator or committee and express you interest!
